Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest 2009 Independence Day

The 94th yearly Nathan’s hotdog Eating Contest 2009 is held on Independence Day annually in Convey Island, Brooklyn, NY. This event is considered as the world’s known hotdog contest and a colorful tradition of Fourth of July / Independence Day in the U.S.A.. The annual July 4th event will be televised live on ESPN at 12 noon. Joey Chestnut succeeded the hotdog crown for a second time last yr. There's a tough rivalry this yr 'tween American Joey Chestnut and former winner Takeru Kobayashi of Nippon. It's approximated that 30,000 fans will come to see the show at the corner of Surf and Stillwell Avenues in Coney Island. Last yr Chestnut and Kobayashi were tied at fifty-nine hotdogs and buns at the end of the ten minute competition. An overtime round was held to settle the contest where Chestnut beat Kobayashi by finishing off 5 hotdogs and buns in shorter amount of time. An award of $10,000 will be given to the winner and $5,000 will be given to the second best and other top 8 eaters will too be given cash prizes.
